Shading
Shading has a large effect on the performance of a solar power system. The time of day matters; if the shading occurs outside the hours of 9am-3pm, the impact may be nominal.
Partial shading of the system also matters as all panels in a section need to run at the same voltage; if one panel is shaded even partially, this will bring down the production of the whole system. There are ways around this such as splitting the array into multiple strings or using micro inverters on the back of panels which we can suggest for your circumstances.
Roof Orientation
In the Southern hemisphere, North facing roofs are the best for solar though the loss from facing the system East or West is nominal and more recently some people believe that a Western orientation is equally as effective as a Northern one, as the power generated from the solar panel more optimally aligns with the power usage in the premises.
Roof Inclination
The angle of your roof doesn’t have a huge impact on your system’s production thought to get the best production, your roof should be pitched at the same degrees as the latitude of your location.
Tilting panels
We are often asked whether tilt frames should be used to tilt the panels so that they’re closer to the optimal angle. In most cases we recommend using the money you would have spent on tilt frames on purchasing additional panels as the difference in production for say a 25 degree roof and a 0 degree roof is only 5% production. Additionally tilt frames require space between the rows of panels so that panels don’t cast shadows over each other meaning that if you use tilt frames you can only install fewer panels.
The panels will be lined up neatly on your roof and your inverter will be installed in a visible area with plenty of ventilation on either site.
This depends on several factors including your budget, the number of panels you can fit on your roof, how much energy is consumed during the day, and what you and/your business is wanting to achieve in terms of savings on your electricity bills.

For most Venergy commercial installations it is only 2 ½ – 3 ½ years.
This depends on the size of system you install, the direction the panels face, the percentage of that production that you or your business will consume during the day, the percentage you’ll export to the grid, the Feed in Tariff in your State and the cost of the system. Yes we can. But as this will depend on many factors, we need to see your electricity bills and customize our recommendations to suit you, your circumstances and/or your business.
This isn’t worth worrying about. A 25 degree pitch is optimal and you’ll lose 1% production with every 5 degree deviation. This means that the difference between a flat roof and the average roof is 5% production.

This generally involves cleaning the panels with soapy water once or twice a year depending on rainfall. A car cleaning hose will do the job nicely.

Absolutely! Venergy will take care of the rebate so all you pay is the difference and don’t have to worry about any of the paperwork. We will also liaise with SA Power Networks to get you connected to the grid.
We will provide you with a customized solar solutions proposal, a roof plan and a sales agreement outlining all of the components that go into the system and the terms and conditions of the contract. After install you will receive a notice of compliance from the CEC accredited installer.

The new Liberal Government has already publicly indicated that the funding for current energy programs is under review.
