Bankstown Sports Club is one of the largest clubs in NSW, supporting more than 40 local sporting clubs and over 6,000 individuals who participate in sport, as well as hundreds of local charities and community groups. The Club is also a member o f the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), with the aim of creating safe, resilient, and positive places for people and the natural environment
Bankstown Sports Club has a strong desire for the business to be powered, by renewable energy and secure a more sustainable future. The challenge of this project was to design a system as large as possible to reduce the power bill of the club as much as po ssible and allow for future expansion of the system in due course. Bankstown Sports Club has partnered with Venergy to reduce its environmental impact and running costs by upgrading equipment with a high energy consumption to more efficient technology an d installing solar panels. In total, 1336 SunPower panels paired with 5 SolarEdge inverters were installed to achieve the highest possible power generation and provide the best performance for Bankstown Sports Club.
